This beautiful Fox came to us after staying with the same owner since 1992! It was obviously used sparingly and has a nice compliment of aftermarket upgrades. Read on, this one is really fun.
The body is quite straight and the paint shines beautifully. It is a respray done years ago when the clear coat started to fail. The doors open and close nicely as you would expect from an 88k mile car. The GT body plastics line up nicely and the door moldings are still affixed. The car looks great. There are imperfections from being driven so we call this one a sunny day driver. Easily nice enough for weekend show & shines and a constant stream of thumbs up. It's pretty surprising for a 90's vintage rig actually.
First off, we couldn't find any rust. The floors are gorgeous. Looking at the panels we also couldn't find any signs of any prior accident damage. The frame rails look free from any off road adventures and the front core support is unbelievably nice.
The top is the original and for the age it is quite nice. However, there are some separations starting at the window corners. It is still serviceable and works quite well.
The interior is quite nice for the age. This one has the original leather that is showing some age. Luckily there are several companies offering upholstery so no need to pay a king's ransom for your interior guy to craft a set. A few things to note which might not seem like a big deal, the ashtray isn't broken and the console armrest compartment is still in place.
Under the hood the 5.0 has been upgraded with a BBK air intake and if you look close you can see those ceramic coated equal length headers. The engine does run nicely. It was recently rebuilt (receipts included) to stock specks and sounds great. The engine had a piston issue which is quite rare with the factory forged pistons. The rebuild included engine balancing, new clutch kit, injector service and a full tune up. When the engine was reinstalled new exhaust was added. A BBK high flow X pipe system along with an American Thunder cat-back were installed. This one sounds perfect. Not too loud but definitely an unmistakable Fox sound.
The 5-speed T-5 shifts perfectly. Nice clutch engagement. If you drove these cars back in the day you will be transported back with a simple trip through the gears. Kind of a 'chicken soup for your 90's soul' type of deal. The right sound, the right feel in the right car.
The suspension has a 1" lowering kit courtesy of BBK. KYB shocks & struts keep this little Fox planted.
For a sub-$20k car you really can't get any cooler than this Fox-Body.
