This '66 was built with all the GT Options but without the fluff of the stripes, badging, fog lights & dual exhaust exit valance. This one is quite rare in that respect and it would be a nice restoration project as it would be very unique with those original options. Currently it is decked out with Shelby side & hood scoops which could be another fun way to go. The body is quite solid and has been put in a Hot Rod Black sealer while you decide which way to go. Heck, it looks pretty cool as is.

This coupe was originally delivered to the Salt Lake City Utah ordering district which took care of Utah, Montana, Idaho...basically dry & salt free roads...despite the name ;). The floors still wear much of their original red oxide paint with the exception of the passenger pan which has been nicely replaced with a reproduction pan front to back. The factory frame rails are still wearing their original black paint which is easily exposed by the flaking original undercoating. Just a bit of cleaning would make a huge difference under this one. The quarters appear to be the originals too. The previous owner had designs of a repaint but never completed the project so after some work he resealed the car in Hot Rod Black sealer for a nice look and to keep it solid for the next owner. Take a look at the pics, there are sanding marks and such still visible on close inspection. Call this one a 20 footer.

Inside the interior is a mix of old & new. The seats show wear but frame & foam wise they are solid. New carpet has been installed as well as a new dash pad. Obviously there are projects inside, but this one could easily serve as it is for a fun driver or an entry level car for the new enthusiast.

Under the hood the 289 runs excellent. It has been upgraded with an aluminum intake manifold and long tube headers. It fires up easily and sounds pretty darn nice. There is a small exhaust leak on the header gasket but that's an easy project and not really a big issue at this time.

The 4 Speed transmission seems to work well and was recently treated to a fresh service with gear lube. The shifter was also adjusted and is crisp & tight.

The 8" rear differential appears to be the original Limited-Slip with 3.00 gearing so freeway hauling is super comfortable.

The Cooper Cobra tires are in excellent shape & measure 15" with 215 65's in the front and 235 60's in the rear.
