This is a truly GORGEOUS example! From the deep blue paint to the miles of highly polished bright trim this one has a unique look. So many of our Broncos have been rough & tumble lifted units, the stock height units are a rarity. While the big ones are fun, they do present some challenges like parking garages or even your garage at home. This one at stock height has a good mix of being up there without the hassle of the long fall out or making those tight jeans a bit...restraining.
This Bronco was delivered new to Socorro, New Mexico. It was reported to have lived in the Roswell area since new. There is no visible rust in any of the typical areas. The floors are amazingly solid. The paint has been wet-sanded and polished to a mirror finish. Easily nice enough for weekend shows its an amazing example. The bright trim is all new from Dennis Carpenter including the side moldings, race track moldings, tailgate moldings, tail light moldings, grill, grill insert, headlight doors, hood & cowl emblems and door handles. Heck, even the bumpers are new! We replaced the windshield, rear glass and the passenger door glass so everything was crystal clear. The windows were then professionally tinted 15% in the rear and 20% on the doors.
Since this was a desert truck the undercarriage had plenty of desert adobe deposited. We pressure washed, scraped & wire brushed as best we could and then painted the undercarriage. New shocks were installed both front & rear as well as the steering stabilizer.
Inside the interior is pretty much all new too. The seats were re-upholstered with reproduction inserts from Free Wheelin. It's a bit of a custom pattern and really looks nice. The floors were fully stripped & painted. The rear area was bed-lined for some durable utility. The front area utilized an insulated mat which is great for easy clean up at the beach. Once you get sand in your carpet its pretty much there forever. As far an new parts inside, it's pretty much everything. New upholstery, headliner, door panels, dash pad, instrument bezel and more.
The weatherstripping is pretty much all new with the exception of the side glass which we didn't want to disturb. So new windshield weatherstrip, cowl weatherstrip, door weatherstripping, door glass weatherstripping, rear tail gate weatherstrip and rear glass weatherstripping.
The rear window works nicely. The factory motor was tired so it was replaced with a new unit.
Under the hood lives a smooth running 351. We didn't get any history on it unfortunately. It does fire up nicely with no smoke or noises. Oil pressure is excellent and it runs out nicely. The 4-speed transmission works nicely with a smooth clutch and good gear engagement.
The front and rear axles were inspected and serviced with new seals and lube. The brakes too were disassembled, inspected and serviced.
The wheels are 15 x 10 US Indy Mags with 33 x 12.50 Hankook All Terrain tires. All were new for the build. They fit nicely and are just a touch taller than factory but are a couple inches wider for a nice unique look.
