This '67 is a unique opportunity. It boasts a highly desirable paint code and has been outfitted with a very nice & usable option list. From here this one could go with a repaint in the factory Raven Black or decide to go the custom route with an Eleanor kit. The body is nice & solid but still needing final work, which would be dictated by the build. The car was completely disassembled for the work and only recently re assembled to prove the drivetrain. The undercarriage was stripped and repainted in Red Oxide.
The engine is a 302 with a mild build and approximately 500 miles logged. It has an aluminum intake manifold, ceramic headers, mild cam & upgraded ignition. The transmission is a 5 speed unit, new for this build. Out back a 9" has been installed to handle the power. The exhaust is a new Flowmaster 2 1/2" mandrel bent kit with high flow tips, sounds perfect. The package works very nicely together with excellent all around power and the ability to easily cruise at highway + speeds.
The suspension makes this car a pleasure to drive. The front end has been fitted with a Fatman Fabrication Coil Over kit, Power Rack & Pinion and a large front sway bar. Out back a set of under-rider traction bars work with heavy duty leaf springs. This car drives nice & straight down the road with crisp steering response and handles very well. This one feels refined and inspires confidence on the road & in the corners.
The interior was just upgraded with new brushed aluminum 'Decor' interior trim consisting of new door panels, dash bezels and front seat upholstery. The front seats are comfortable with new seat buns.
Rolling stock consists of American Racing Torque Thrusts with 17" front & 18" rear.
This car was put together for testing and while it runs and drives great, no weatherstripping was installed because it would have to be removed for paint. The panels will obviously need attention to line them up and complete final body work for paint. It is actually fun to drive as is and with even a quick spray in a Hot Rod black would make this car presentable & appreciated in nearly any crowd.
