Super Rare Opportunity Here!!! We go through quite a few Mach 1’s here. They are among our favorite cars of the Muscle Car Era. They so often fall into two categories, complete projects or completely restored. Very few cars fall into the nice driver category. When you do find them as a driver you end up with an undesirable color or just a plain-jane car.
Here you have Acapulco Blue (one of the most popular colors), Spoilers, Louvers AND a real deal M-Code 351 Windsor that has been rebuilt with a nice cam, Holley Dual Feed 4 Barrel, long tube headers and Flowmaster equipped exhaust. Oh, don’t forget that original Ford Shaker Ram Air System that was tastefully added.
This Mach was painted several years ago but still presents well. It was a bare metal strip and a driver-quality repaint. The panels are straight and overall quite solid. There are a couple of bubbles on the lower rear quarters and drivers door. All are easily missed on anything but a very close inspection. The quarters appear to be the un-patched originals. The floors too are the originals and are still solid.
The interior still presents very nicely. The original door panels show only minor wear and look great. The seat upholstery is in good condition as is the reproduction carpet with factory style sewn in red mats. A Rare Factory Tilt Steering Column was added and works nicely. The Fold Down Rear Seat has been added and is a very valuable, functional & desirable option to have.
The 351 Windsor is the M-Code model that produced 290 Horsepower and 385lb/ft of torque. It has been upgraded with a larger camshaft that gives a nice lope to the idle, just enough to let you know it isn’t stock, but not so much it causes problems. The headers are long-tube units that have the perfect sound & combined with the Flowmaster Mufflers make it sound perfect. Just the right crisp note & plenty of bass.
The transmission was rebuilt as well, receipts are provided. It goes into gear quickly and shifts well.
The Rear Window Louvers & Rear Spoiler were all factory options that have been added as well.
The brand new Magnum 500’s are 15x7 and are wrapped with 235 60’s on the front & 255 60’s on the rear.
If you want a Mach 1 that you can actually drive This Year, take a good look at this one. It sits in that perfect spot between those ‘Perfect Weather Princesses’ and the ‘Going to Fix It One Day Wonders’.
