This '79 is a great project. Supercabs are not an easy find in the 4x4's. Finished specimens fetch some heavy prices and many projects are beyond salvation. This one obviously has some cosmetic challenges. However, the parts are all here and the floors & frame are overall nice & solid. 

This one was a driver back in 2010 before health issues took the owner off of the road. It sat unused after 2016 until being brought back to life this month. The fuel tanks were drained & fresh fuel added. The engine was pre-oiled. The engine fired up easily and sounds great.

The ignition switch didn't provide the starter signal power so a push button start was added, it makes a good theft deterrent too. 

Under the hood, the 400 has been upgraded with an aluminum intake manifold and a 4 barrel carburetor. The engine runs quite well and could be used as is. The C6 automatic goes into gear and feels like a good transmission. 

The gauges appear to work properly though the fuel sending unit will need to be replaced.

The factory disc brakes are a nice option. They work ok for lot driving but we strongly recommend a full inspection and servicing prior to any road use.

The tires hold air fine but have extensive dry rot. They must be changed before any street use.
