This '70 Cougar is a time capsule! Still wearing much of its original Candy Apple Red paint it presents pretty well. Don't get us wrong, there is plenty of 'Patina'...aka dings, dents, scratches, thin spots, etc. There is some damage on the passenger door that a PDR specialist could dramatically improve. If you want a no-guilt driver with some personality this one is spot on. If you want something more, plan on a repaint at a minimum. What you won't find much of on this car is rust. The panels appear incredibly solid rust wise. Perhaps one of the most solid convertible Cougars on the market.

Inside the interior appears to be the original and in exception condition for the age. There is obvious signs of wear, mostly on the carpets. The upholstery and dash are extremely impressive as Convertibles usually scorch the soft trim quite quickly and these are quite nice, soft & supple.

Under the hood, the original Born-With, Numbers Matching 351 Windsor 2V engine is still in place. It fires up easily and runs pretty well. There doesn't appear to have ever been a rebuild as the engine shows no obvious signs that it has ever been removed. With just shy of 92k miles on the odometer it still runs quite nice and there are no signs of smoke or engine noises. The FMX transmission goes into gear quickly and shifts properly.

The Power Front Disc Brakes work nicely. The master cylinder and rear wheel cylinders were just replaced.

The exhaust system is still the original with a new replacement muffler having just been installed as the original had finally given up. The engine has a nice deep note to the idle.

The original fuel tank looked fine on the outside but had some corrosion starting on the inside so a new reproduction tank and sender were installed.
