Pretty much ANY Muscle Car looks good in black, but this Camaro really makes you ask why they painted them any other color. With just the right amount of chrome off set with that white nose stripe this Camaro is the quintessential Muscle Car. The rumble of a Performance Built 396 under that SS hood and rolling on FAT 285 35 18” rear steam rollers and onlookers just can’t help staring. As a driver, you just can’t help showing it off.
The body on this Camaro is a solid example. With crisp, clean lines on a nice quality paint you can clearly see this is a good car. As the old saying goes, black paint tells no lies. The SS hood appears to be an original unit and really looks good on this car. The front & rear spoilers really help set the car off too. The vinyl top is in excellent condition and is still soft & supple. Chrome trim likewise is nice & clean.
Inside the bucket seat interior has fresh door panels, headliner, carpet & trim. The seats are comfortable and a nice place to spend a road trip. The SS trim steering wheel is a nice touch that adds to the look.
Under the hood it is fender to fender engine. That big fat 396 looks great decked out in raw aluminum, chrome & Chevy Orange. It was rebuilt by Jay’s Automotive, a well known local shop. We didn’t get receipts but we know the builder well. It is reported to have very low mileage too. It has a nice lope to the idle but not too much. It is at home in traffic as well as cruizing the strip. It has a big cooling shroud to help keep this monster cool too. The 4-Speed Muncie transmission shifts very well with a good short gate. Clutch engagement is excellent and very forgiving thanks to all of that torque.
The power steering & brakes make this a very livable car in any situation. Both are great options that make it possible for the wife or newer drivers to enjoy the car to.
The tires & wheels are brand new. 17” 255 40’s in the front and Massive 18” with 285 35’s in the rear. They fill up the wheel wells and provide excellent traction and help give you a crisp feel on turn in. This car is very responsive in the turns and a pleasure to drive on the highway.
