This is a super clean '66 Coupe. Built to be a nice sunny day driver that can hang with the late model performance croud.

 

The body on this coupe is in nice condition. The panels line up well with even gaps and nice straight lines. The paint looks great and is easily nice enough for weekend shows or your nice sunny day driver. Likewise the chrome is in good condition. This is a clean car.

 

Inside the Pony Interior is in great shape. Lots of recent restoration work has been done and the interior is very impressive. The seats are firm and the upholstery fits tight. The dash panels are nice with clean lenses over functioning gauges. This car also features a factory AM/8-Track radio. I don't have an 8 track tape to test it so I am unsure if it works. On the column a Rally Pack has been fitted. The tach works nicely as does the original clock.

 

Under the hood the original 200 horsepower 289 has been replaced by a stout 302 with approximately 375 horsepower. It has ported iron heads, larger camshaft, upgraded aluminum intake, high capacity Milodon oil pan, headers, 2 1/2" stainless exhaust with 'X-Pipe' and performance ignition. The engine runs very strong. The 4-Speed Transmission shifts crisp & precise. The 8" differential has been rebuilt with 3.55 gears and a Trac-Lok differential. Wheel spin is easy to induce. Just tickle the gas pedal and the car skates sideways never failing to bring a smile. This is not a car for a beginning driver.

 

The car has been upgraded with an 'Export Brace' as well as a 'Monte Carlo Bar'. These stiffen the front chassis and help the car handle better. The front suspension and steering are in good shape and the car is a rewarding car to drive.

 

Ford made approximately 1.2 million Mustangs in the first 2 model years. They have been wildly popular since they were introduced. However, most were not true performance versions. So many of the 65/66 coupes out there will quickly glaze the eyes of a performance minded driver. This one is the exception. It has all the good looks to inspire you and Plenty of Horsepower to keep you hooked!
