This is a great looking Cougar decked out in a single repaint. This one still presents nicely but this is an older repaint and there are plenty of scratches and imperfections. What you won't find is any serious rust so common with 53 year old Muscle Cars. Going over the body you will also not find any signs of any serious accident damage. The trim is also in great condition for original. You would be hard pressed to find a more solid unrestored Cougar convertible.

Inside the interior presents well with the normal wear of a driver. This one is still easily worthy of a sunny day cruiser. There are all the creature comforts of the day here too. Starting with a Cruise Control, Air Conditioning and a Power Top. The convertible top shows some wear but still functions fine. 

This cat is powered by the very desirable S-Code high performance 390 4 Barrel engine. This is the numbers matching 390 with the VIN stamping on the back of the block. The correct and very rare air cleaner is still in place. The engine fires up easily and has plenty of low end torque. The 390's were rated at 320 horsepower and 427ft lbs of torque. This one is quite stock with the passenger side heat shield in place still which is a good news/bad news kind of deal. When the heat shields are left in place they often cause a build up of heat and cause the manifold to crack, as is the case. While it isn't a horrible exhaust leak, there is one beginning.

Optioned with Power Front Disc Brakes, this Cougar stops quickly and confidently. The brake booster was just replaced with a new unit and the rear brakes were replaced as well. 

The tires & wheels are brand new. The wheels are a 14" reproductions the originals. The tires are Cooper Cobra 225 70's that fill up the wheel wells quite nicely. 

The air conditioning appears complete but will need to be serviced. Typically this involves a new dryer and condenser to keep the system functioning properly.

The cruise control appears complete as well. The turn signal stock has seen better days. Ford used the stock throughout the lineup so it isn't too uncommon. It could possibly be repaired but both used and NOS units are available on eBay periodically.
