This Mustang was owned by the same owner since 1966 until it just came to us. It was lucky to have been a garage kept car while it was in service. The owners kept excellent service records documenting the work done. The original owner’s manual with the original owners information is still in the original protective sleeve from Smith-Gandy Ford in Seattle, WA. The car even has its original license plates included. 29 Years ago it was put into a garage and kept there until now.

As you would expect, the body is in great condition. I see none of the obvious signs of any collision damage so common with older cars. The aprons and core support are excellent. The trunk pan shows no disturbances to the bumper bracket braces and the seam sealer is nice. The car was repainted in May of 1980 and luckily stored indoors so the paint held up well. There are the normal stone chips from driving. From the mileage on the receipts the car has clocked about 30k miles since from May of 1980 until it was parked in 1985. The bumpers & molding look very good for their age. The original floor pans and frame rails are in excellent condition. No visible signs of rust or replacement. This is a very solid survivor quality car.

Inside, the interior shows the obvious signs of wear. Rather than replace them we chose to leave it stock to show just how well this car was taken care of for the last 50 years. The chrome interior trim is surprisingly nice and pit free. The factory radio works nicely as does the heater, wipers, etc.

The engine was rebuilt in May of 1980. Documents show that it was bored .030 and the crank was turned .010/.010. According to the odometer reading it has about 30k on the rebuild. The transmission was rebuilt (documentation provided) just prior to the engine. The engine and transmission work properly and behave much as they did stock.

The factory Power Steering works excellent. This one is easy to pilot around the tightest parking lot with one hand.

The factory Disc Brakes are a rare & desirable option. They work much better than the standard drum. They will stop repeatedly from speed without the horrible fade the factory drum brakes experience.

This convertible is for the buyer that wants the originality & documentation that are so hard to find. Whether you plan to drive it as is or restore it to its original glory, this is an excellent platform to start with.
