This is a very rare find. This is a very well documented car with the original owner’s manual, window sticker, build sheet and
Marti Report.

Original build sheets are extremely rare due to their placement in the car. Any moisture or corrosion typically destroys the factory paper and ink. When looking for an investment car, this is the most sought after piece of
documentation.

There were only 3,910 Cobras produced with the R-Code 428CJ equipped with a 4 Speed. When the bucket seats and floor console are considered, this is a much rarer and more desirable car.

The body is in impressive condition with clean lines on an older single repaint bright red, original color was Black Jade. The car presents well with a nice original look, though there are the obvious imperfections of a 35 year old repaint.

The moldings are nice and the car presents as a very nice survivor. The body appears to be wearing its original panels. The floors, frame rails, cowl and trunk pan all appear to be in excellent original condition. The floors still wear their original paint and sound deadening mats.

Inside the car is a true stand out. The interior presents like the extremely well preserved 98k mile car it is believed to be. The dash pad is in excellent condition, these are very hard to find
without sun damage.

The factory plastic floor console looks great on the console lid is still nice. The seats were recovered in 2007 and are still quite comfortable and in good condition. The carpet has been replaced, otherwise the interior looks much like it did back in ’69.

This Cobra’s drive train has survived quite well and is in good condition. It has seen some documented restoration of the engine, transmission and rear differential. The Cobra Jet engine is not the original but is date correct and has been rebuilt with the factory 10.5 compression ratio, correct 13/32” rod bolts, .010/.010 crankshaft, fully balanced rotating assembly, correct valve train components, windage tray, Cobra Jet specific oil pan, ‘C’ scratched Cobra Jet block and all correct casting
numbers & date codes.

The engine is topped off with the correct Holley 735cfm carburetor and ultra-rare Functional ‘Ram Air’ air cleaner.

The Super Top Loader 4-speed is a correctly coded RUG AU, was inspected and given a clean bill of health. The 9” Nodular case 31-Spline 3.50 Trac-Lok differential was removed and inspected. It wears its correct 8K15 date code
as well as its Daytona Pinion Support.

Option wise this Cobra came equipped with Power Front Disc Brakes and Power Steering. These are both highly desirable when you are piloting a mid-sized Muscle Car with a Big Block
and a 4-Speed. Keeping up with a pair of spinning rear wheels that like to swap ends is much easier when you are not wrestling the wheel or trying to compensate for poor braking.

The original ‘Styled Steel Wheels’ have just been re-shod with brand new BF Goodrich Radial T/A’s. These tires are the closest to the original sizing you can get in a performance tire and give the car a very correct stance and a nice stock look.
