This one is ready to drive! It fires up nicely, runs excellent, transmission shifts properly and she tracks nicely down the road.
This one sits firmly in the no-guilt driver range. It has a nice shine and presets well. There are some scratches & imperfections that let you drive this one. The body is solid with quarter panel skins done some time ago. The only visible rust is on the passenger door corner. The moldings and bright work look great.
Inside the interior is clean & tidy. The seats are comfortable and the upholstery looks good. This is an early '65 so seat belts weren't required yet though they can be added. An upgraded stereo system has been wired in with a Pioneer amplifier and speakers in the package tray and kick panels.
Under the hood, the 289 has been equipped with an Edelbrock Performer intake manifold and matching carburetor. The exhaust has been upgraded with long tube headers and dual exhaust. It sounds great with a nice deep idle but nothing extreme, just like a Pony Car should sound. The 4-Speed transmission shifts nicely through the factory 'Reverse Lock-Out' handle. Clutch engagement is even and proper. Mechanically this car feels well sorted.
The undercarriage could use a detail. The floors appear solid. The rear frame rails around the shackles do have some of the typical rust, see pics. These are very common areas with replacement frame rail extensions costing about $30 each side.
