With just over 600 miles on a complete restoration this '57 is in amazing condition. The Raven Black paint has a deep gloss on some seriously straight panels. The lipstick red interior is the perfect color against the black paint. The big star here is the drivetrain. A Mummert equipped 312, 5 Speed Overdrive and a 9" 3.70 Traction Lock give this Bird some impressive power and driveability.

The body and paint on this car is quite nice. Easily nice enough for car shows but this one should not be relegated to the garage. The paint has a miles deep shine. The chrome and bright trim are quite impressive as well. The hard top is in amazing condition, the Port Hole Windows are iconic. It removes easily with 3 latches per side. There are convertible tops available that stow behind the seat. This convert does not have that option, though all the mounting studs are there should you choose to add it later.

The interior in this car is amazing. From the Lipstick Red upholstery to the machine turned dash its just an incredible place to stay for a nice 'wind in your hair' ride. The seat is quite comfortable and supportive enough for a road trip. The T-Bird emblem is emblazoned on the seat, door panels and even the upholstered kick-panels. The factory 'Signal Seek' radio doesn't power up though there are companies that rebuild them. The factory tachometer works but a portion of the needle broke off. The heater works surprisingly well, which is just all the more reason to leave the top off. To keep better track of engine temperatures an aftermarket gauge tracks the engine heat.

Under the hood is quite impressive. The factory Cold-Air Induction Air Cleaner is still in place as is the Power Brake Booster assembly. Looking deeper though you will notice the Mummert Aluminum Intake Manifold and Aluminum Cylinder Heads. Keep investigating and you find a Mummert Aluminum Timing Cover, Custom Ceramic Coated FPA Headers, Holley Street Avenger Carburetor and MORE! What you can't see are the receipt documented .040 Forged Pistons, I-Beam Rods, .020/.020 Crankshaft (polished), Balanced Rotating Assembly, ARP Bolts, Roller Rocker Arms and a Howard's Solid Lifter Performance Camshaft. The engine sounds incredible but isn't over the top. The power is dramatically improved over the original 'as-delivered' 312. From a stop you notice immediately that the 312 has improved low end and when you step into the throttle there is no question. Traction becomes an issue if you get aggressive though the 9" Traction Lock does a really nice job of keeping the car planted. It isn't a race-car by any stretch, but it has plenty of power to keep just about anybody interested.

The 5-Speed Transmission from Modern Driveline works seamlessly. Shifts are precise and clutch engagement is perfect. This is about the easiest manual transmission to work we have seen. It uses the factory pedals and bellhousing to acuate a super easy 11" diaphragm clutch.

The Power Brake System in this one works incredibly well. Braking is smooth with very little effort required. However, if you want to stop fast this thing is amazing. I had to check twice to see if this on had 4-wheel disc brakes as it really does stop that well.

The suspension and steering were all restored and have just over 600 miles on them. The car rides quite well and you could easily see yourself taking it out on an open-road trip.

The nicely detailed trunk houses a beautiful reproduction trunk mat along with a full size spare tire and jack hardware. Even with all that in place there is plenty of room for luggage and even a golf bag or two.
