It's no secret, Summer has arrived and with it so has the cruizing scene. Go to nearly any classic car show and you see the usual suspects. Mustangs & Camaros...a lot of them. If you are looking for something just a bit unique without sacrificing the cool factory this drop-top-kitty might be the one for you. Cougars were designed as an up-scale version of the Mustang with options like hide-away headlights, sequential tail lights, slightly longer wheel base and a bit more chrome. They share their underpinnings with the Mustang making maintenance and upgrades super simple.

This is a great looking Cougar decked out in a single repaint of the Burnt Copper Metallic paint. This one still presents nicely but this is an older repaint and there are plenty of scratches and imperfections. What you won't find is any serious rust so common with 53 year old Muscle Cars. Going over the body you will also not find any signs of any serious accident damage. The trim is also in great condition for original. You would be hard pressed to find a more solid unrestored Cougar convertible.

Inside the interior presents well with the normal wear of a driver. This one is still easily worthy of a sunny day cruiser. There are all the creature comforts of the day here too. Starting with a Tilt-Away steering column, Air Conditioning, Power Windows and a Power Top. The convertible top shows some wear but still functions fine.

This cat is powered by the very desirable M-Code high compression 351 Windsor 4 Barrel engine. The 351's have excellent low end torque and produce 290 horsepower in stock form. This one feels quite strong providing plenty of power to back up the name. The engine was reportedly just rebuilt and is spotless, though receipts were not provided. The FMX automatic transmission was just rebuilt and does have receipt documentation.

The braking, steering and suspension all received a great deal of work at a well known restoration shop. Receipt docs are available. The work included rebuilt power steering control valve, slave cylinder, hoses, brake calipers & hoses, bushings, etc. The car drives quite well with tight steering and responsive braking.

The tires & wheels are brand new. The wheels are a 15" fully chromed version of the originals. The tires are Cooper Cobra 255 60's in the rear and 235 60's in the front.
