This Mustang has an awesome combination of looks and pedigree. The body is very straight & solid on this Mustang. The paint was performed at American Auto Body in Renton. The silver paint was laid down very well and the blue stripes were done right. The panels line up well and the Shelby components were fitted nicely for installation. The floors are brand new and were professionally installed at the original spot welds here in our shop. The rest of the car is incredibly solid and quite impressive. If you want a fun weekend car, sunny day cruiser or an incredible daily driver this would be an excellent candidate.
Inside, the interior looks great. It has been upgraded with aftermarket seats and 3 point seat belts to help keep you in place with the cars dramatically improved handling. The upholstery is in great condition and is quite comfortable. The options inside are quite impressive with the rare 'Tilt-Away' steering column that is actuate when you open the door making getting in and out much easier. The rear seat is the desirable 'Fold-Down' unit that quickly converts the car to a 2 seater with plenty of room for luggage. This car also has the rare tachometer and the much rarer convenience control package.
Under the hood a 351 Windsor from AED was installed. It is a mild build with a great sound and prodigious torque. The Edelbrock Performer RPM works with the matching carburetor, upgraded electronic ignition, high flow exhaust and 4 speed transmission for a very fun driving experience.
The suspension has been upgraded to take full advantage of the upgraded tire & wheel package. The upper control arms have been re-located like the original Shelbys. To take this a step further the ball joints received the 'negative-wedge' kit. This kit eliminates the factory understeer and makes the car handle much better. The front springs were upgraded to 620lb and the rear leaf springs were replaced with stronger units to eliminate axle wrap and lower the car an inch. KYB Gas-Adjust shocks were installed at all 4 corners. To keep the body stiff enough to handle the extra G's sub frame connectors have been installed as well. The result is a Mustang with quick steering and nice, flat handling in the corners.
This is a factory Power Front Disc Brake car with the Kelsey-Hayes 4-piston calipers. The brakes have been upgraded with slotted rotors and the rear brakes have the Shelby style functional brake cooling ducts.
The wheels are 17x7" with 225 45's on front and 18x9.5" with 275 40's on the rear. They fit excellent and really fill up the wheel wells.
