This '70 Pro Street Fastback is quite an experience. There really is no missing it. From the looks to the sound, this one isn't for the timid or shy.

Obviously this '70 has a bit of an identity crisis as it's dressed rather convincingly as a '69. The factory dash tag and fender stampings are in place so it is a 1970. The body is pretty solid with no obvious rust issues. The paint still has some shine and the panels do line up pretty well. However, this is an older repaint and it has plenty of chips and imperfections so you either need to embrace the patina or plan on a repaint.

Inside the interior is quite presentable and there is no question this is an all business car. With just enough toggles to make you change your call sign to Maverick, it awakens that little kid in all of us. Seats are quite comfortable and the rear seat area has been finished out nicely. Again, there is the obvious wear but the bones are quite solid in here.

Under the hood lives a MONSTER! While no receipts or documentation were provided with the car a handwritten list from the builder was provided. It calls out the engine as a 429 Cobra Jet upgraded with a Scat offset ground forged steel crank, forged rods, forged pistons, Cobra Jet cylinder heads with oversize valves, Crane Gold roller rockers and solid flat tappet camshaft. The engine reportedly displaces 499 Cubic Inches and makes 699 Horsepower and 615 pound feet of torque with 12.5 to 1 compression. The C6 automatic has a full manual valve body and a trans brake (which we haven't used). So far weather has not permitted any driving beyond the parking lot and it was ridiculous as the tires stood no chance of gaining traction with the cold/damp winters here. So, we can say nothing of road manners or whether it would heat up in traffic. It has a large aluminum radiator with dual fans, heck it even has an electric fan for the transmission cooler!

There is a ton of really cool parts on this one. It fires up surprisingly easy and runs quite well. With that being said the car does need some shaking out so you will be tinkering. The electrical system seems to work fine though there are some projects like wrapping some wiring and general clean up. The starter is a new unit that works fine but is loud. The headlights work as do the tail lights. Heck, even the windshield wipers work. So, this one has a lot going for it but it needs some tinkering. This is not a commuter car or legitimate daily driver, nobody has that much $ for gas. It does run well and sounds incredible. If you want to annoy neighbors, scare children, enrage tree huggers and send your children's inheritance to large oil companies this could be the car for you.
