This '74 is a fun example. It has its bumps & bruises for some street cred, but it still presents itself as a solid example. The drivetrain has been upgraded with a larger 351 Windsor along with a Mustang 4-Speed Toploader transmission. New vintage style Tires & Wheels look great for a 'Day Two' appearance.
The body on this one is still very solid. It has had front floor pan repairs but the rest of the body appears to be the original. The rockers appear to be solid with only some minor rust at the bottom of the door posts though the end caps of the posts look quite nice. The typical door jam issues are not present on this one and the cowl deck appears solid. Around the rear wheel wells this one is quite solid, even the rear quarter panel lower braces look good. Obviously the paint is less than stellar on this one. Call it a 20 footer with plenty of nicks, scratches, chips & dings. Basically a 'no-guilt' driver. This one would be a good candidate for a driver or a restoration project.
Under the hood the original 302 has been replaced with a warmed up 351 Windsor. The 351 has been upgraded with electronic ignition, Edelbrock Performer intake manifold & matching carb, aftermarket cam with a mild lope, long tube headers and dual exhaust. Power is estimated at 340 horsepower and 400 lb/ft of torque. We did not get any receipt documents on this one. The transmission is a Stroppe style Mustang Toploader conversion with Hurst floor shift linkage. The clutch works nicely and the transmission shifts nicely. The transmission will come out of 2nd gear at times, then be fine. There is no grinding of gears, it will just slip out of gear.
Inside the Bronco has a, well lets just call it a 'Vintage Feel'. The seats were reupholstered quite some time ago but they still present well. The floors were covered in a custom mat that fits well. There is some wear inside but its basically a stock set up that you can go either back to original or modify it to your taste.
The tires & wheels are brand new units. The wheels are from US Mags and are 15". The tires are BF Goodrich All Terrain T/A's in 31 x 10.50's that fit perfectly.l
