This was a highly optioned car when it left the Dearborn Ford Production Facility. Since that time its option package has been added to with some very desirable options like Tilt Steering Column, Power Drivers Seat, Power Windows, Gauge Package with Tachometer, Mag Wheels, AM/FM Stereo.

 

This car looks like a brochure for the 73 Mustang.

 

The car itself is beautiful. The paint color looks great and the silver accents really make the car look rich. The panels all line up well with nice fitment & gaps. The floors, trunk, etc all are nice & solid. A testament to the cars receipt documentation with many documents from California dating back well into the 70’s.

 

Inside the interior is in great condition. The white upholstery provides a cool place to sit in the summer sun, a welcome alternative to the common black interiors. Many creature comforts have been added like the tilt column, AM/FM stereo, gauge package, power seat and more. This car is optioned much like a later model car.

 

The air conditioning system appears to function properly and is a great option to have when the temps climb and traffic is crawling.

Under the hood the 351 has been upgraded to with 4 Barrel Cylinder Heads, Intake Manifold & Holley Carburetor. Feeding that is a functioning Ram Air set up. The engine runs excellent and performs well in traffic. The automatic transmission works well with nice, firm shifts. The rear differential features a Trac-Lok for good grip off the line.

 

Driving the car on the road is a pleasure. The 71-73 Mustangs are one of the best kept secrets of the Mustang family. Thanks to their true power steering and slightly tweaked suspension they drive very nice down the road without much of the wandering that the earlier cars are associated with. This Mustang also has the factory Competition Suspension so it handles very nice in the corners thanks to stiffer springs, larger front sway bar & rear sway bar.

 

This is a very rewarding car to drive. It has excellent road manners, a huge list of desirable options and plenty of power to back up its Muscle Car heritage.
