Spring is Bronco time! We are happy to roll this one out just in time. This one came to us with a TON of recent restoration work started and nearly all of the parts bought. The list of parts & modifications checked nearly all of the ‘dream’ boxes on the standard ‘Bronco Wish List’.
The body is a decent example from Montana with professionally replaced floor pans, rockers and repaired in the upper engine compartment corners. The hood was replaced with a quality reproduction steel unit from Tom’s for paint. This was a quality, catalyzed base/clear system not a cheap single stage. It has been wet-sanded and polished to a mirror finish. Not many Broncos can be ethically painted black. The door handles, mirrors, grill & fender emblems were replaced with quality reproductions. The door hinges were replaced with quick-release units that allow you to remove the doors in about a minute for full summer enjoyment. The bumpers are from James Duff and have been color matched to the rest of the exterior trim. This one came out quite nicely and is equally at home out on the town, at your local show & shine or for a weekend at the beach.
Inside, the interior is fresh & new. Seats from Tom’s Broncos provide a comfortable & safe place for you and the family. The rear seat is the fold n tumble unit that has integrated headrests that are a must have for children in the back seats. They provide whiplash protection from rear end collisions as well as off road follies that children really need. A full ‘Family Cage’ has been custom installed providing protection for both front & rear seat passengers. The whole tub has been lined with Raptor Bedliner for ease of clean out and incredible durability.
Under the hood the 302 is a fresh rebuild. It has some performance upgrades including an aluminum intake, slightly larger camshaft, electronic ignition and a 4 barrel carburetor. The engine upgrades produce a significant upgrade in both horsepower & torque over the original. The transmission is a rebuilt unit from Tom’s Broncos. The clutch is a brand new unit as well. The shifters were upgraded with the James Duff floor shift set up along with the matching twin stick conversion. Billet handles add a nice touch and make clear what stick does what!
This Bronco proudly rides on a James Duff 3” Suspension Lift Kit. Fresh front coil springs with dual shocks at all 4 corners provide a firm yet stable ride. This 3” kit provides plenty of clearance for the 35” tires. This kit is designed for Broncos primarily used on the street but still give you extra clearance & capabilities on the beach or trail.
The radius arm mounts have been relocated with a kit from James Duff as well. This modification helps correct the caster problems inherent with lifted Broncos. We have our own alignment specs we use to make our Broncos drive well and these are one of the components we use on high end Broncos. Our benchmark is to be able to comfortably drive them with one hand at 70mph.
This Bronco has a fresh Quick Ratio Power Steering Conversion from Wild Horses with a new steering box and modern HD Delphi power steering pump. The modern pumps are highly appreciated for their quiet operation and high capacity for upgrades in the future. With this kit a complete Heim Jointed steering linkage with D.O.M. tubing was installed. This eliminates the deflection from the light duty stock steering linkage. It also creates a much stronger linkage for off road use that is less prone to breakage, binding and misalignment.
This Bronco also has a fresh Power Front Disc Brake Conversion from James Duff. This system uses new components and a large bore master cylinder for quick & reliable stopping.
The headlights have been upgraded to 2017 specs with LED projector beam headlights. These headlights are incredible and will light up the darkest of nights with clean, clear bright light.
The bumpers are from James Duff. These are their sturdy ‘Plate-Bumpers’. They have 3/16” & 1/4” steel construction, ‘wrap arounds’ to protect the body, laser cut jacking points, trailer hitch receiver in the rear and a spot for a winch in the front.
The tires & wheels are brand new. The wheels are 18 x 10” units from Moto Metal. They are finished in a gloss black paint with cnc milled edges. The tires are 35 x 12.50 Toyo AT II’s. These are our go-to tire for our Broncos. They have a squared sidewall design that really works well with the Bronco. The tread pattern works excellent in all weather conditions and traction off-road is excellent. These tires come with a 60k mile tread wear warranty as well so you should be enjoying these tires for quite a while.
For those who like to drive their Broncos, the single 23 gallon tank was invented. No longer do you have to switch tanks and senders. No more leaking old tanks. This tank was 45 years younger than the two it replaced, comes with an integrated skid plate and eliminates the old switching valves.
This Bronco is full of tasteful upgrades and custom options. The engine and transmission have been recently rebuilt, paint & interior are new, suspension is upgraded & new, steering is upgraded & new, upgraded front disc brakes are new, tires & wheels are upgraded & new, lights are upgraded & new. This is a truly gorgeous & unique Bronco that is ready to be enjoyed!
