Ready for Restoration!

If you've always wanted a classic mustang convertible - and wanted it done exactly your way, here is your chance!  This 1965 Mustang Convertible 289 V8 4 spd is just waiting for some new love in the form of a full restoration.  Oddly enough, this car was restored about 20 years ago and never driven.  Upon completion, the owner connected a vacuum line on the motor incorrectly, couldn't get the motor running right and sadly parked it in the weeds in disgust for two decades!
Making its debut after 20 years, this car sits in a place where you'll likely need to do a complete run through and re-do on most every mechanical and electrical component, exterior paint and interior.  We did get the motor running and installed a new starter.  It fired right up with no ugly sounds and she purrs nicely. It's likely that the motor itself will perform nicely without major work, but unfortunately we can't guarantee that.
The paint is heavy on the side of the patina look, and although it has lots of surface rust everywhere, it's not full of cancer.  Inside you'll actually find the same finish - heavy patina, which is pretty rare for the interior of car!   The seats somehow resisted the elements better than you'd think, but everything took a hit from many years of sitting.
As you roll underneath, you'll find the same consistent theme.  The rust looks a bit like barnacles, but nothing too severe. It awaits the likes of a wire brush and some fresh paint! The frame rails and torque boxes somehow survived and shouldn't require replacement or patching.
Continuing with full disclosure, the area in front of the shock towers has been replaced with metal from another mustang.  The correct vin is still on the passenger rear apron.
So although we touched on the years of neglect with this pony, it really is a solid car that will be incredibly fun to get back on the road for top down sunshine road trips!
