This ’73 sits right in that rare spot between the high end $40k Bronco and the $15k project. Many buyers want a reasonably priced Bronco with power brakes and steering, modern wiring for reliability and all around good looks. But they also want one that they can park in a parking lot, go camping, take that ‘short-cut’ you always wanted to, etc.

This Bronco was originally delivered to the Seattle area and is reported to have lived here on the West Coast its whole life. It has been well maintained and enjoyed so there are the normal chips, dings and imperfections from a life well lived. The paint presents as a driver with a good shine and has had touch ups, call it a 10 footer. The body is solid overall as you would expect from a West Coaster. There have been a couple of prior repairs in the front floor pans with reproduction metal used. There are a couple small bubbles on the driver’s front door corner and one in the rear of the passenger door jam. The cowl, floors and rockers are solid and in good condition.

Inside the interior is in good condition with the expected wear of a driver. The previous owner decked out the interior with diamond plate which really brightens things up but is easily removable. The front seats are aftermarket units with excellent support. The factory rear seat is in place and is in good condition. The factory gauges in the dash work well.

Under the hood the 302 has been upgraded with an aluminum intake manifold, 4 barrel carb and an electronic ignition system. This 302 fires up easily and grabs RPM’s quickly. Torque is surprisingly good and easily powers this Bronco with the bigger tires. The exhaust note is great and sits right in that Goldilocks zone being not too loud and not too quiet.

The 3 speed transmission shifts nicely thanks to the Duff floor shift conversion. The clutch feels nice and smooth too.

The 2 ½” suspension lift is just enough to clear the 33” tires and give you that classic look. The ride is smooth thanks to the brand new shocks from Tom’s Broncos at all 4 corners as well as the steering stabilizer.

The power steering works nicely and makes turning with those 33” tires a breeze for anybody.

The power brakes are really a must have no matter what your size or driving skill level. This system stops easily and predictably.

The tires are 33x12.50 BF Goodrich Mud Terrain’s mounted on 15x10 wheels. These tires work well both on and off road. In order to go easier on the light duty factory spare tire rack, the spare is slightly smaller (and about 14 lbs lighter) at 32x11.50 mounted on a 15x7 wheel. This spare is meaty enough to get you back on the road/trail.
