This Bronco sits in a rare spot. It runs and drives surprisingly well and is mechanically sorted out. Obviously the paint is older but it presents well enough to be driven as is while you come up with a new paint scheme. So many Broncos now are either complete restoration candidates or over-restored pavement princesses it is hard to find a good solid driver needing only cosmetics.
The body was what drew us to this one. With solid engine compartment, rockers and quarters we were pleasantly surprised. We did find pinholes in the front floors so we replaced the floors with quality reproduction units. The body is fairly straight with the normal bumps and bruises associated with a 47 year old car. The hood does have prior repairs and I would recommend a new one prior to any paint work. The top appears to be solid as well.
Inside the Bronco looks nice with recovered original seats. The padding is thick and comfortable. A 4-point roll bar is in place that gives you some additional protection as well as a nice perch for a Bikini top if you want.
The engine was reportedly rebuilt and has less than 12k miles. From all appearances, sounds and performance this is easily believable. It fires up incredibly easy and really sounds great. We replaced the headers with new nickel plated units and a Hooker exhaust system and 2 chamber mufflers. The shifter was relocated to the floor and it works nicely.
The steering was upgraded with Tom's Bronco Parts steering box. Steering is tight and responsive, a nice treat in a Bronco.
The brakes were upgraded with a Power Brake Conversion from Tom's as well. Brake pedal effort is minimal and consistent, again a nice treat in a Bronco.
The suspension is still in its stock style configuration. It works nicely and this is a very comfortable Bronco to drive.
The 31" tires are still in excellent condition with plenty of room to work without rubbing the body.
