Looking for a great driver and don't want to spend a fortune, take a look. Fairlanes have long been a cult favorite. They give you quite a bit more room inside than their more famous Mustang brother and a bit more exclusivity. This '66 is sporting the 500XL package giving it the much desired bucket seat package. Add in an engine upgrade, overdrive transmission and power disc brakes and you have a well optioned driver.

This Fairlane was a dry Montana car for most of its life,  all the while being stored indoors, even if it was a barn. Thankfully the body escaped the fate of many of its brethren and this one has been largely spared by rust. Being a Montana car there was rust around the wheel wells that was repaired when the car was painted back in the mid 90's. Since then it doesn't appear as there was any rust missed as there are no obvious bubbles or visible rust to be easily seen. It appears the paint was done nicely as it still presents pretty well, easily nice enough for a weekend show but by no means show quality. There are some runs on the end of the trunklid visible on inspection but not otherwise easily seen. Expect the normal stone chips, nicks and the normal rash from age. Call this one a 10 footer. 

Inside the parchment interior presents quite nicely. The seats & door panels were recently done and are amazing. The carpet fits quite nicely too. The interior is comfortable enough for long road trips. The comfort weave upholstery allows for some air movement and helps keep you a bit more comfortable thanks to some air movement.

Under the hood lives a 351 cubic inch Cleveland 2V model that has had an Edelbrock Performer intake manifold topped off by a Demon composite 4 barrel carburetor. This is a nice upgrade from the original 289 with much better torque & horsepower. It's not a race car by any means but it moves out nicely. The 4-speed is a later model unit with an overdrive 4th gear. Out on the road 60mph is barely over an idle making long distance cruises comfortable and affordable.

The front end has seen some upgrades as of late including power front disc brakes, larger front sway bar, new shocks and more. The steering is tight & responsive. Out back the rear springs were replaced with new aggressive springs. They had quite a bit of 'lift' so lowering blocks were added. New rear shock have been installed as well.

The wheels are reproduction 'Styled Steel' units in custom 15x7" with BF Goodrich Radial T/A's with massive 255 60's out back that fit perfectly.
